Wednesday evening, the PAPER<\/em> community sauntered into Sloane\u2019s<\/u><\/a> \u2014 the new speakeasy in NYC\u2019s The Manner hotel \u2014 to celebrate the fifth issue of literary magazine VOLUME <\/em>0<\/em><\/u><\/a>. Guests sipped cocktails and munched on small bites while flipping through the pages of the new purple edition of the lit mag.<\/p>\n

VOLUME 0<\/em> publishes new short fiction from up-and-coming and notable writers. Editors John Lippman and Anne Healy launched the new rag last year in order to give readers something fun and offbeat. The publication focuses on \u201cthe sordid, salacious and taboo happening everyday.\u201d VOLUME 0<\/em> aims to surface visceral short fiction \u2014 \u201cshock, disgust, awe, you name it \u2014 as long as it\u2019s not boring.\u201d Issue 5 features work by Emma Cline, Nada Alic, Anika Jade Levy, Kristen Roupenian, Jan Carson, Brad Watson, and Zach Williams.<\/p>\n
